The New Economy - A Level Playing Field and Open Competition
The 2008 crash still badly affects us today and was largely caused by big banking houses packaging rotten mortgages into financial “products”. This industrial-level scam was aided by “respected” rating agencies and the “mainstream” media, both dependent upon the bank scammers for revenue. Even worse, politicians also depended on the too-big-to-fail banksters for their “contributions” (pay-offs), so we have had the pockets of our grandchildren dipped into to keep the bonuses of the high-rollers flowing - as is their right, apparently.
Our Economy is Run to Serve the Elite
This is a strange way to run an economy, but it works for the plutocratic elite. Crony capitalism and corruption don’t just find favour at national level, but it filters down to the parish council as well, with contracts awarded to drinking buddies and relatives of councillors. They can get away with this corruption as deals are struck without oversight, hidden from the searchlight of public attention – but we know how cockroaches scatter for the dark places when the light is thrown on them. It is time to flick the switch and attract more decent individuals into serving our communities through our system of direct democracy.
But our efforts do not end there, as we must also stop foreign mega-corporations from hiding profits offshore and introduce a fair local turnover tax on trans-national businesses. We have politicians telling us that these corporations will flee our shores: oh dear, and make space for local competitors who will pay taxes for goods and services purchased in the UK? The big boys won’t flee as they know we have a bright and capable group of entrepreneurs of our own, and only the crony tax deals stop them competing fairly. Time to let them access a level-playing field and see our local tax take increase, our own entrepreneurs benefit and our political class get their wings clipped. Sound good? Join our party and bring this about.
The greatest natural and economic resource of any nation is the people. Releasing their energy and ability to innovate must be the prime objective of any government that truly wishes to see them prosper. Sadly, this is not the case for most political parties as their great aim is for themselves to prosper, along with their pet theories and ideologies, rather than helping us to achieve our aim.
Direct Democracy Produces Prosperity
However, we do have one country that struck out on its own in 1848, and left Europe with its political corruption, cronyism, and crashes far behind. It has no oil fields or gold mines, but it has direct democracy to release the pent-up energies and initiative of the people. It does not empower narcissist politicians to put hurdles in their path or to waste resources on political fads. Switzerland is the proof of the system that we advocate, with an average annual salary (for all Swiss, not just the politicians) of over £95,000, and a national debt of only 47% of GDP – the UK’s is over 100%. Elon Musk believes direct democracy to be less corrupt than representative democracy, so don’t feel embarrassed about supporting it – we aren’t!
